Good Morning All!

 

For those of you who are coming this weekend, the information about this weekend’s tournament is posted on advancedeventsystems.com.  However, Friday, we will play the afternoon wave in Pool 8 on Court 93.  Everyone is to arrive no later than 2:30p ready for warm up by 2:40p.  We will go to dinner as a team after Pool Play is over, so please make arrangements to do so.  Drive safe and I will see you all Friday afternoon.

 

For those of you who are not coming this weekend: it is unfortunate that we have arrived to the end of this season in such shambles.  I did/do not appreciate the very late and indirect communication of multiple of you not being able to go to Dallas for whatever reason.  Everyone played an important role and part on this team and now we will have two defensive specialists playing front row this weekend.  This tournament has been planned since you tried out, and I was informed yesterday that some of you couldn’t make it.  Arrangements could have been made ahead of time to pull players from other teams but I was not allotted that opportunity.  That is ridiculous! It’s very inconsiderate and I’m disappointed.  At this time,  I regret to inform you, that those that do not travel to compete in Dallas, do not need to travel to Austin next weekend (decision supported by the Directors of Texas Select).   I wish you all the best; take care.

Hello Coach Jamerson,

 

This is Lena Walker, Nena Walker's mother.  You and the team have every right to be upset that Nena is unable to attend this weekend.  I agree it was planned in advanced and I do not take pleasure is canceling out at the last minute.  If you care to be upset with anyone, then let it be me and not my daughter.

 

Unfortunately, things happen and since you felt it necessary to let us know how ridiculous it is, I also feel it  fair to share my reasons as well.  When it comes to me having to replace a roof on my home or pay my bill for Texas Select, my roof won out, putting me behind on my payment and receiving notice that my daughter would be suspended " is due by Wednesday April 18th. It is unfortunate but if we do not receive payment by this date we will have to suspend any further participation. Please let us know if you have any questions." 

 

Being a single parent, I could only agree with the suspension since I was unable to pay due to my financial obligations, I agreed.   However I was later given an opportunity to extend my payment arrangements but by then it was to late.  If you are upset, I understand and "I" apologize to you and the team, this is not Nena's decision but mine "her mother."
