I grew up in North Richland Hills and never heard of one in that area!  Sorry!

Every Wednesday night, a little dive bar called the "Across the
Street"
holds a hippie drum circle. It's a large enclosed patio, weather
permitting it's outside, or inside the block building otherwise.

5625 Yale Blvd. Dallas, TX 75206

Take Greenville north of Mockingbird, Yale is the first Left after
the
big Kroger store.

The drum jam has been going on for years and years, and the people
involved have a heavy Senegalese influence. There are some folks
that
seriously study and practice the Senegalese and other West African
drum and dance styles.

Some really interesting people show up at this gig.

Other events happen regularly and irregularly; call Happy's Drum
Hotline
214-823-DRUM . That guy can tell you a lot about what's going on
around Dallas, and about drumming in general.
