Position : Java / J2EE Developer

Location : Midtown NYC, NY

Longevity : 12-18 Months Contract

Job Description : 

Our client in NYC, is looking for a Java / J2EE Developer with strong SQL skills to work run day to day activities of the BAU Support team within Operations Technology. This role will include diverse exposure to a number of Applications and Support in technology based and user facing roles, primarily focused on supporting the Operations Business and related applications. The role is based in New York, but covers support for London, Canada and HK Operations. The successful candidate will take on development responsibilities for all BAU activities across the Operations Technology stack. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

•Ensuring all system SLA’s are consistently met

•Prioritization and monitoring of production issues

•Regular meetings with Operations stakeholders

•Point of escalation for BAU issues

•Managing BAU relationship with external vendors

THE DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Provide development Support to Operations Business and Operations TEC team.

•BAU Support within Operations Technology

•Provide BAU support and analysis to the business as and when required.

•Maintenance of infrastructure – troubleshooting environment problems and reviewing performance issues across the Operations landscape.

•Technically support and manage various Project Initiatives across the Operations business.

•Overnight support of Operations Technology batches

•Point of escalation for BAU issues

THE SKILLS YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB:

•Strong Development experience: Java/J2EE, SQL, PLSQL, JBoss/Wildfly, JMS, Hibernate, Spring, JSF, MQ, Control M, JavaScript

•Strong Problem Solving and analytical skills

•Sound Business Knowledge. Ideally: Fixed Income, Equities, Derivatives, Back office processing

•Strong communication skills

•Operating systems: Unix, Windows.         

•Database: Oracle, SQL Server

DESIRED:

•Reporting framework - SSRS

•ETL Framework – SSIS

•SWIFT messaging

•Understanding of BPS / ICI

•Experience working with settlement systems

•Experience working with reconciliation systems

•Performance Tuning.

•Strong excel skills
