The Tennessee Bureau of Investigations is hosting a FREE Basic Fire Investigation 40-hour training course in each of Tennessee’s grand divisions.
The East Tennessee course is not longer accepting applications. The training will be October 6-10, 2025, at the Sevier County Fire Chief’s Training Center, 925 Center View Road, Pigeon Forge, TN 37862.
The Middle Tennessee course will be September 8-12, 2025, at Sunrise Medical, 12002 Volunteer Blvd, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122. The application deadline is August 31, 2025, and the class is limited to 32 participants.
The West Tennessee course will be October 6-10, 2025, at the TBI Regional Headquarters in Jackson. The application deadline is October 1, 2025, and the class is limited to 32 participants.
This 40-hour course will sharpen the skills of investigators. by focusing on various skills, such as scene security, scene processing, scene safety, fire deaths, legal aspects, case studies, NFPA 921, and hands-on training. The curriculum of this school is oriented towards student participation by incorporating hands-on workshops and practical exercises.
