The SFMO will be hosting two webinars on January 6th (12:00 PM CT and 6:00 PM CT) to help Tennessee fire departments ensure compliance and proper data retention during the transition.  NERIS Transition Update 

December 2025 

 

As we prepare for the transition from NFIRS to NERIS, the Tennessee State Fire Marshal's Offices wants to ensure your department has the tools and knowledge needed to make this a smooth process.

To assist you during this process, the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s office will be hosting a webinar on January 6, 2026, covering:

NFIRS reporting cutoff and NERIS transition requirement

• Methods for extracting historical NFIRS data for record retention.

• Best practices for finalizing 2025 NFIRS reports before the January 31 deadline.

This webinar is highly recommended for all Tennessee fire departments in order to ensure compliance and proper data retention during this transition.
