Here's the Team Roadkill ride for Saturday, Sept. 6

Hello Cyclists --

And now for something entirely different -- thanks to Herb Gately.  Herb has come up with a 26-mile route out and around his hometown, Harker Heights.  So, here's the deal:

Saturday, Sept. 6 -- Wheels will roll at 7:30 am. from Herb's home at 3206 Eagle Ridge in Harker Heights for a 26-mile loop and include what Herb describes as two "short-but-tough" climbs, one he calls "Crank-breaker".  Try your climbing muscles, or walk up the toughies (there's no shame, he says).  After the climbs the ride will be a pleasant ramble through and around Harker Heights.  To get to Herb's, take Comanche Gap Road off of FM2410 towards Dana peak. Take a left into The Ridge subdivision. Drive to the top of the hill and take a LEFT.  His house is the third on the left.  He will be outside at 7am.  You can park anywhere on the road.  See you there.  Looks like fun. ALSO -- Don't forget Randy's Tuesday-Thursday training rides.  His group leaves Hettie Halstead Elementary School on N. Main Street in Copperas Cove at 6 p.m.  Look for his updates on the TRK Facebook page.

AND -- Save the date:  The Women on Wheels (WOW) anniversary party and ride is Sept. 20.  The ride, and the party will originate at the Kempner Brick Oven bakery and restaurant in Kempner.  The ride will follow the River Road to Watson to visit the kangaroos and zebras, and back.  RSVPs are requested.  Let me know if you want to go, and I'll let WOW's Colleen Isdale know.
