Happy New Year, Cyclists -- Here it is!

After several minutes of discussion and Laszlo's recon, the "official" New Year's Day ascension of Shell Mountain is on. Here are the details:

Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014:  Wheels will roll for the first TRK ride of the new year at 9:30 a.m. from the parking lot of the Copperas Cove Public Library (400 block of S. Main St., Copperas Cove) for the annual New Year's Day ride -- weather permitting, that is.  We'll leave the library, and head north of FM116 to Elijah Road.  We'll turn right on Elijah, and take that to Georgetown Road, and head north toward the summit of Shell Mountain.  This is a 34-mile out-and-back with two pretty tough climbs along the way, and at least one are where we'll have to get off the bikes and walk a little way  (think cyclocross).  Join us for the fun and fellowship of the first ride of the year.  See you at the library.
