Put a Spring in your step this Wednesday at Dundee Science Centre - Sensation full of Spring fever with a look at frolicking lambs, blooming flowers and getting your body ready for the Spring sun! With Mother’s Day on Sunday this is a fun and interesting way to treat your mum!
The evening, which is free of charge and part of the popular ‘Reclaim’ series of events for over 18s, starts at 7pm and goes on until 10pm. The event follows on from Café Science Extra, which starts at 6pm with a discussion by Dr Pauline Lockhart, from the University of Dundee.
There will be a licensed bar, and in addition to the usual exhibits and science shows, visitors can find out all about the joys of spring in a special one-off talk. With music performed by the Dundee Operatic Society from their upcoming show “Boogie Nights” and a chance to treat your mum to a relaxing massage this is the perfect pre-mother day treat!
Visitors to the event will also be able to see the ‘Inside DNA’ exhibition and as an added extra it is the launch of Exposure: understanding living in extreme environments a generative soundart installation and exhibition developed by Paul Adderley from the University of Stirling and Michael Young a composer from Goldsmiths, London. The installation explores information gained from the scientific examination of soils from abandoned Viking settlements in southern Greenland and asks the audience to reflect upon the extremes of the environment faced by these settlers
I hope this evenings will be a fun way to kick start Spring and it would be excellent to see you there!
Have a nice day,
Karen
