This was somewhat discussed in another thread, but it was a little off topic.  I am starting this thread for this specific project.

I have a OnePlus 5T with a fingerprint reader on the back.  When the device is in its holster (Unicorn Beetle Pro) or face down on the night stand, the fingerprint reader is very conveniently located.  I would like to use that as a means of dismissing the sounding alarm.

My device has the standard system Clock, OnePlus' clock app, and AlarmPad Pro.  The AlarmPad Pro has an option to dismiss alarms with the fingerprint reader, but it hasn't been working since a few updates ago.  That app is no longer supported, it has been abandoned by the developer.

The following profile fires just fine when an alarm sounds using the OnePlus clock, but not system Clock or AlarmPad Pro.

Profile: Alarm (370)
Event: Alarm Clock [ Label:* ]
Enter: Notify Alarm (371)
A1: Notify [ Title:Alarm Event Captured Text:An alarm has set this notification Icon:mw_action_alarm_on Number:0 Permanent:Off Priority:3 ]

This proves that Tasker can see the alarm event.  What I need is a way to dismiss the alarm using the fingerprint reader.

The device is rooted, all permissions/administrator settings are enabled.  I have AutoTools and AutoInput (and 6 other AutoApps), surely we can figure this out.

I updated the action to include a wait and alarm cancel but the alarm continues.

Notify Alarm (371)
A1: Notify [ Title:Alarm Event Captured Text:An alarm has set this notification Icon:mw_action_alarm_on Number:0 Permanent:Off Priority:3 ]

A2: Wait [ MS:0 Seconds:5 Minutes:0 Hours:0 Days:0 ]
A3: Cancel Alarm [ Mode:Disable Current Hours:0 Minutes:0 Label: ]

Does the alarm create a notification? If so you could use AutoNotification to dismiss it :)

That wouldn't be using the fingerprint reader, which is the goal.

It would... Simply use AutoNotification after Tasker successfully read your fingerprint :)

BTW, I've added a new Authentication Dialog to the latest Tasker beta now which everyone can use!
