Those of you who enable "Stay awake while charging," either via Developer Options or Tasker's Display/StayOn action know that the display will still dim after normal timeout (at least it does on my Samsung phone). I want to be able to undim the dimmed display from Tasker.  I've found this not to be easy.  Any help out there?

I'm currently undimming the display from Tasker by making AutoInput tap an overlay that I show.  But doing it this way is slow. 😭😪😭😪

Could you try a Set Display > Display Timeout action to set the timeout value to 10 or so hours, when the phone is plugged in, and then restore it to whatever value you like as an exit task (i.e. when the phone is unplugged)?

Thanks for your response.  10 hours would be more than what I need   But my Samsung phone doesn't seem to allow timeout to be set longer than 10 minutes.  Not even using Tasker Custom Settings action.

Well no more responses for a while so I'll close it out with what I have working now.  Note that there is an overlay already on the screen before the new overlay is shown, so it doesn't matter which overlay is in the foreground.  Also note that AutoInput must tap twice, making the action slower than it should be.

Task: Example

    A1: Show Scene [
         Name: SoundDetectedNotif
         Display As: Overlay, Blocking
         Horizontal Position: 0
         Vertical Position: -76
         Animation: None
         Show Over Keyguard: On
         Continue Task Immediately: On
         Allow Outside Boundaries: On
         Blocking Overlay +: On
         Overlay +: On
         Continue Task After Error:On ]

    A2: Variable Set [
         Name: %tap
         To: %TapPoint
         Max Rounding Digits: 3 ]

    A3: AutoInput Action [
         Configuration: Type: Point
         Value: %tap
         Action : Click
         Times: 2
         Interval: 120
         Timeout (Seconds): 1
         Continue Task After Error:On ]
