I have a task to increase display on time based on select apps but tasker seems to always have it active. I was working well before not sure if the update broke it. I have version 5.1m on ZTE Axon 7

I can't replicate this on my device. Are you using Accessibility or App Usage Stats setting to detect apps? Is the relevant permission enabled?

Try switching to App Usage Stats (and enable the permission). Does that make a difference?

I'm sorry but how to do I use app usage stats?

On the Tasker main screen click the options menu (3-dots, upper right hand corner). Then click More->Android Settings->App Usage Stats and make sure that the setting is on for Tasker.

Then open the Tasker preferences (Options menu->preferences). Look for App Check Method under the Monitor tab. Select App Usage Stats from the drop-down menu.

Its either a limit on the number of apps on the app selection screen or instagram thats causing it to stay active.

One more thing to check. In the app selection screen, there is a toggle button called Services. Was it toggled on when you selected the app? If so, reselect the app with the button toggled off.

See App Context in the User's Guide for an explanation of what these buttons do

Ahha...i think it was the see services button. I'll test it some more and let you. Thanks!
