What: Call it an "old-fashioned epee" tournament. That means you can
use whatever combo you want: single epee, epee and dagger, epee and
cloak, whatever. The bouts are also in the round, rather than on a
linear strip. How many touches depends on the number of
participants. We also have the chance to do demos of whatever styles
we want, and recruit. Standard equipment will work just fine.
Where: The Bay Area Renaissance Festival at MOSI.
http://www.bayarearenaissancefest.com/
When: This weekend, 4/16 and 4/17. You can fence either day, or both,
whatever your schedule permits. We have space to do demos starting at
noon, and the competition will start at 1:00.
Fee: Admission is free for fencers plus one guest. There is a
nominal $10 registration fee, but we may be able to get that waived if
we do demos. Let Matt know if you are interested (
tap...@gmail.com),
and I'll make sure your name gets on the guest list. When you arrive
at Festival, go to the Will Call window, give them your name, and tell
them you are there for the fencing tournament.
Registration: There is a Registration Form (MS Word Doc:
http://www.bayarearenaissancefest.com/registration/2011_Fencing%20Competition.doc),
which you should print out and bring with you.
