Congratulations goes to CJ Smith and Tyler Thomas for their 3rd place
finish at the D-Under Category at the West Coast Duel! They both
achieved their D-classification. It is important to me that our TBFers
can achieve in USFA competitions. Go get the classifications! Awesome
job, CJ and Thomas.
Steve, you're this close, buddy! I'm pretty sure CJ appreciated a
comrade in his corner.

Today's lesson: The Fleche
Most of you were introduced to the Fleche for the first time. It was
comforting to see that most of you worked out the elements of this
footwork. It's easy to overthink this action. Here are a few takeways:
- This is a single-tempo attack at outside lunge distance.
- The hit should occur BEFORE the landing foot (non-weapon foot) hits
the ground.
- There are two "launches" to consider, the first to start, the
second to clear the distance past full cross-extension.
- You don't get the benefit of your full reach if you do not fully
cross-extend your hips.
- Keep practicing this.
