UK Foreign Office responds to Chemmani Massacre Petition

The Movement for Self-Determination of Tamil Eelam (MSDTE) wishes to inform that the petition submitted to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom regarding the Chemmani Massacre, which highlighted the continuing quest for justice for Tamil victims of war crimes, has been officially acknowledged.

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has responded to the petition and forwarded its reply to the Movement for Self-Determination of Tamil Eelam.

This response marks an important step in the international advocacy campaign calling for accountability for war crimes committed in Sri Lanka, including the Chemmani Massacre, where mass graves of Tamils were discovered after the war.

The MSDTE reiterates its call for the United Nations and the international community to ensure an independent international investigation into the Chemmani Massacre and all acts of genocide against the Tamil people.

தமிழீழ மக்களின் உரிமைக்காக செயற்படும் தமிழீழ சுயநிர்ணய இயக்கம்  தெரிவித்துள்ளது:

செம்மணி மனிதப் படுகொலைக்காக நீதி கேட்டு, ஐக்கிய இராச்சியத்தின் பிரதமரிடம் வழங்கப்பட்ட மனுவுக்கு, ஐக்கிய இராச்சிய வெளியுறவு, பொதுநல மற்றும் அபிவிருத்தித் துறை (FCDO) அதிகாரபூர்வமாக பதிலளித்து, அந்தப் பதில் தமிழீழ சுயநிர்ணய இயக்கத்துக்கு அனுப்பிவைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இது, இலங்கையில் தமிழர்களுக்கு எதிராக நடைபெற்ற போர்க்குற்றங்கள் மற்றும் இனப்படுகொலைக்கான சர்வதேச பொறுப்புணர்வை வலியுறுத்தும் எமது முயற்சியில் முக்கிய முன்னேற்றமாகும்.

செம்மணியில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட தமிழர் கூட்டக் குழிகளில் நடந்த கொடூரங்களுக்கான உண்மை வெளிப்படுத்தப்படவும், குற்றவாளிகள் நீதிக்கு உட்படுத்தப்படவும், ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபை மற்றும் சர்வதேச சமூகத்திடம் தமிழீழ சுயநிர்ணய அமைப்பு (MSDTE) வலியுறுத்துகிறது.
