Hi everyone,

This weekend I will be participating in another bikepacking gravel race - Mega Mid South in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The event start on Saturday at 8 am. The course is 300 miles with 90% gravel and it is a perimeter of all Mid South racecourses in last 10 years. The event is completely self-supported; I will be carrying all my gear on my bike. My goal is to finish in 3 days.

You can track my progress here (look for PR dot):

Take care,

Peter

Hi everyone,

Here is the update on my Mega Mid South adventure:

I finished in 2 days 13hours and 49 minutes, I placed 71st out of 116 participants. The route was challenging, lots of rolling hills and rough rutted dirt roads; about 85% gravel / drit roads with 17,500 ft of climbing total. I rode total of 310 miles (some stores and the hotel that I stayed in on the first day were off route which added the mileage). The roads were in great condition except some ruts and a few muddy spots. There were 2 very technical rocky sections, each about a mile long that I ended up walking. On the last day I had to bushwack around a train that was stopped on a railroad crossing which added about 3 miles to the ride but made it more exciting!

Here is my Strava link for each day with pics:

Day 2: https://www.strava.com/activities/16337848260
Day 3: https://www.strava.com/activities/16348034781

Take care,

Peter
