Join us September 5, 2026 for a 300k ACP Brevet and a 201k RUSA Brevet from Waxahachie
The 201k goes down to Italy, Dawson, then back up through Corsicana, Blooming Grove, and Avalon.
The 300k goes down to Blooming Grove, Dawson, and Teague, and back up through Corsicana. The routes split on the south side of Waxahachie.
Start Location: The corner of Stadium Drive and Northgate Drive, Waxahachie, TX. This is near the LaQuinta at 311 Stadium Drive. If not staying at the LaQuinta, this is also close to the Walmart Supercenter, 1200 N. Hwy 77, Waxahachie. Park over by the Race Trac.
Start Time: Pending, for both routes. Routes may start at staggered times, also.

The 300k is an ACP brevet that counts for certain medals and awards and as qualification for certain longer rides. But you do not get extra credit or time for the extra 8k.
The 201k is a RUSA brevet that does not count for these items. But you get extra mileage credit for that extra one k.
Check back late in the week to make sure the RWGPS files have not updated or switched.
RUSA membership is required. See the RUSA website for details.
LSR membership is required. Get the form and money in to Dan sometime prior to the ride start.
Lights and reflective gear meeting RUSA requirements are required for any riding before sunrise or after sunset.
Waivers are attached for each ride. Complete, print, sign, scan, and email to both Dan and myself. If you're not sure which route, you can send in both and sort it out later.
Route notes:
There has been some construction south of Italy and some north of Avalon, and I'm not sure of the status of either work.
The La Estrellita cafe in Avalon, intersection of FM 55 and Hwy 34, does have store items, despite not saying "store" on the sign- so Gatorade, soda pop, snacks, ice.
On the 300k, at Mile 47, I see Parrish Country Store. The last two or three times I have ridden by there, it has looked like it was closed for good. But, Google showed it open. Anyway, I would NOT depend on that store being open when you get there. Even if open, they had a very limited stock of store items (more, cafe).
Long range forecast: Mostly sunny, low of 75 on Friday night, high of 99 on Saturday, winds at 7 mph from SSE. Check the forecast closer to the ride start to confirm. Sunrise is 7:05, sunset is 7:46.

Update:
No change to rider list or start time (still 7:00 AM for 200k).
One extra note: Bring the original signed printed waiver to the ride start, Dan or I will collect them.
Hourly forecast is now showing 95 for the high. Gosh, we may need to break out the woolly socks already.
