Unbound XL gravel race

Hi LSRs

Today 3 pm, I will start in the Unbound XL - 360 miles of gravel / dirt starting in Emporia Kansas. This will be my 2nd attempt at the XL distance, in 2023 I finished unofficially (took me almost 48 hours due to muddy conditions). The goal is to finish before the 3 am cutoff on Sunday (36 hours).

Unfortunately, I did not finish. I was really exhausted after 200 miles and I still had to ride through all night on Saturday to finish. I only had a few hours of light left since my main headlight was not working and I used my second light the first night. I decided to bail out and took a shortcut back to Emporia - 240 miles total with 12,500 ft of climbing.

240 miles of gravel is still simply amazing, especially with that much vertical.

I just do not see a listing with your last name as above, even as a DNF. Did you register under a different name?
