Hi LSRs,
I put together two new routes this year, both of them have been approved
1. Country Roads Ramble 300k (route #3712)
The 300k route follows the 200k Country Roads Ramble route to Cleburne (about 80 miles), and continues to Rio Vista and towards Brazos River, then turns north to Godley and east towards Joshua. It rejoins the 200k route on Bethesda Road in Burleson and continues back to Lynn Creek Marina along the same route. This route is on calendar for February 7th along with the 200k
2. Grandview Gravel to Steiner Valley and back (permanent route #5770) - 106 km / 66 mi
This a brand-new perm that is based on the Grandview Gravel Goodness perm which I rode several times. Last time I rode that route about a month ago, I was attacked by a dog who bit through my front tire (and caused a hole that would not seal). I decided to redesign this route to avoid Woodbury (where the dog attack occurred) and added a new beautiful section in Steiner Valley west of Blum. This is a very remote route with only one store (in Blum at mi 45). Beautiful views of Nolan River and Whitney Lake and a few steep technical climbs (no shame in walking these). The new route has more gravel (79 km vs 56 on the old one) and in my opinion it is more fun.
Here are some pictures from scouting the route:
Take care,
Peter
