Wow. I am awestruck by the brilliance of your observation! I don't know how I could have been so
blind for so long.

It's obvious, now that I think about it, that Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, James Madison,
the Adams cousins, all those guys had low IQs. Forget about those constitutions they gave us.

Your inability to read and comprehend what I wrote proves that you are
low IQ - long with the other gun nutcases.

My reading and comprehension are fine. Perhaps your writing ability doesn't meet your desires.

Authorize the boys with shotguns in pickup trucks to clean it up.

Liberalism will be converted or eliminated in a week.

Gun data matters little when an intruder is in your home
Re: "What was missing from column on gun rights" (Letter, May 1):

David Levine writes that guns are bought at gun shows and
elsewhere without background checks.

Not in California. It, like some other states, requires all
firearms transactions be through a licensed dealer. Immediate
family transfers are the exception in California, but such
transfers of handguns must be reported to the state Department
of Justice, which determines lawfulness. Persons doing otherwise
are criminals.

Also, data is of little concern when facing an immediate threat.
I know that scenario. We and two friends — all senior citizens —
were accosted in our home by a young man obviously “disturbed.”
We could hear the sirens responding to our 911 call, but the
situation was deteriorating rapidly. Availability of a firearm
ended the threat and secured our safety.

Such action carries grave responsibility which should be
acknowledged when considering a firearm for self defense. The
intruder survived and has a court date.

My liberal friends are awfully quiet lately
Being somewhat conservative (although not a Trump supporter), I
feel that I have found a silver lining in the Biden presidency:
My liberal friends and relatives have gone silent.

No more political discussions, debates or harangues. Politics is
a strange hobby and, of course, it is easier to be on the attack
than on defense. However, I don’t hear much of “You know, the
country really needs and can afford Build Back Better.” Or “I
really like the way Biden is handling the economy.” Or “The
border situation has really changed for the better since Biden
took office.”

My liberal friends keep a low profile when “The Squad” dominates
the news, and I have

not heard Kamala Harris’ name pass their lips. Small favors, but
a welcome respite.

She Turned Him Down So He Shot Her

On 14 Oct 2020, John fagboi <nos...@nospam.com> posted some
news:7-SdnZDcueyQ9RrC...@giganews.com:

Former President Donald Trump took a shot at Alec Baldwin during
a rally in Pennsylvania on Friday, pointedly asking whether the
actor pulled the trigger of the gun that killed a
cinematographer on the set of Rust last year.

Trump derided Baldwin as a "psycho" and a "sick puppy" while
suggesting Saturday Night Live's replacement Trump impersonator
was better than Baldwin, even though Trump hasn't watched him.

"By the way, Alec Baldwin — did he pull the trigger? I think
he's a sick person. ... I've watched him. He's a psycho.
Something happened," he mused at the rally. "And he shouldn't
have done those interviews."

Last year, Baldwin held a prop gun near cinematographer Halyna
Hutchins that was set off, killing her and injuring director
Joel Souza. Baldwin claims he never pulled the trigger and
instead released the revolver while rehearsing a scene. The
tragic on-set shooting is still being investigated and has been
the subject of litigation.

Baldwin has been a staunch critic of Trump and impersonated him
on Saturday Night Live for years. Trump panned the NBC comedy
show as a "horrible show" during the rally Friday, noting that
he hosted it in the past and drew "great ratings." Trump then
suggested that Baldwin's replacement was an upgrade.

"Alec Baldwin's a sick puppy. ... I haven't seen the new guy,
but I hear he's better than Alec Baldwin," he said.

Trump was at a rally in Pennsylvania to garner support for
celebrity physician Dr. Mehmet Oz, who is vying for the
Republican nomination to fill the Senate seat being vacated by
Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA).

The primary election in the race is slated for May 17.
