Hey all!

Here's another idea from Orly with Hillel and Repair the World for TBTT.  She met with Joe Scaffido, with the Student Activities Office, and they mentioned our project with Cornell Dining about providing reusable bottles in the dining locations (and/or for distributing to all freshmen- I just e-mailed Therese again to clarify).  They're interested in doing something similar for Slope Day, and it looks like Repair the World could potentially supplement the existing budget for plastic water bottles for reusable bottles!

This would be awesome, so I'll e-mail you all as soon as I finally hear back from Colin and Therese about a meeting for the next week or two.

Hey Orly!

Hope your summer is going well so far.
Thanks for getting in touch with me.  I would definitely like to work with you on this project and I'm excited that Joe Scaffido and Repair the World would like to partner on this.

I've been talking with Cornell Dining this past semester about providing stainless steel reusable bottles (with TBTT and Dining logos, as well as a fact sheet about tap v. bottled water) for the dining locations and they liked the idea.  They also contacted me in June about the idea of providing free reusable bottles to incoming freshmen for this coming semester.  However, I've been trying to set up a meeting with them and have had a hard time, since it looks like their sustainability coordinator was at a conference all of last week, and there may also be some opposition within Dining.

Hopefully this all pans out, but my guess is that we'll be able to have TBTT bottles for sale at the very least (even if we don't give out some for free).  Once we figure out more details and order the bottles (we were able to find a company that will print logos and ship them for no extra cost), I'd definitely like to meet with you and Joe Scaffido to expand this idea for Slope Day.

I'll let you know as soon as I hear back from Dining about the status of the bottles.
Talk to you soon,
Sincerely,
K.C.

Hi K.C.

How are you?  I had lunch with Joe Scaffido yesterday and TBTT came up.  He got really excited when he found out that you've partnered with Cornell Dining to have reusable water bottles in the dining halls and mentioned that he has wanted to get reusable water bottles for Slope Day for some time now but doesn't have the budget.  I thought this would be a great opportunity for synergy for TBTT, Repair, and a MAJOR campus institution.  Joe has a budget for plastic bottles that could go toward reusable bottles and water fountains/troughs of some type and Repair would also love to contribute.  Do you think this is something TBTT would like to put its name on/help organize?

All the best,
Orly
