Take the Pledge! Take Back the Tap at Cornell

Be part of the solution: With student support, we can work to end the consumption of bottled water at Cornell.
WHY TAKE THE PLEDGE?
ENVIRONMENTAL: Making bottles to meet Americans' demand for bottled water requires more than 1.5 million barrels of oil annually, enough to fuel some 100,000 U.S. cars for a year (Earth Policy Institute).
SOCIAL: An estimated $100 billion is spent each year on bottled water. Only $30 Billion is required to halve the proportion of people lacking sustainable access to safe drinking water by 2015. (Earth Policy Institute)
ECONOMIC: If the water we use at home cost what even cheap bottled water costs, our monthly water bills would run
$9,000. (Fast Company)
HEALTH: The federal government requires far more rigorous & frequent safety testing & monitoring of municipal drinking water than does the FDA of bottled water. (Food & Water Watch)

Please pass this pledge along to your friends at Cornell.

Each additional pledge helps in our goals of eliminating the supply and demand of bottled water on campus!

Hey guys!

I just created the pledge for TBTT.  Let me know what you think of it (including the format and design if you click on the link) before I send it out to the Facebook group and list servs, etc.  It's really similar to Brown's, so I just want to check in with you guys to see if we should edit it.  Also, here's a link to Brown's "Beyond the Bottle" pledge: http://beyondthebottle.org/?page_id=68.  \

Please let me know when you get the chance!
Thanks.  =)
