Just one last reminder about a couple of events that TaiwaneseAmerican.org is supporting this Saturday! Hope you'll come out in support of the Taiwanese American and Asian American communities! I'll be at both events, so come and look for me!

Taiwanese Mid-summer Festival, Walnut Creek, CA

The East Bay Taiwanese Association will be celebrating the mid-summer festival on Saturday, June 9th. Food will be available for purchase. Plus, they'll be teaching people how to make Zon-Zi! And, you get to eat them with fish-ball soup at the end! Lots of fun and games for young and old, from paper boat races to egg-standing contests.

TaiwaneseAmerican.org will likely have a booth set up to promote community events and Taiwanese pride T-shirts! Come gather with other 2nd generation community members for a casual lunch!

Bring your friends and family to have some fun, and enjoy some lunch!

This year's contestants are Tingwei Lin (East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation), Luke Patterson (Great Leap), Anthem Salgado (Babae), Jeffrey Sichaleune (Midwest Asian American Students Union), Jason Woo (California Dragonboat Association), and Billy Yeh (My Sister's House). Comedienne Ali Wong, fresh from Jamie Foxx's Laffapalooza!, will MC once again. Chi-hui Yang (Center for Asian American Media), Robert Bernardo (Gay Asian Pacific Alliance) and Krizia Mae Sapida (Miss San Francisco 2007) will judge the contestants and determine who is fit to reign.
