Subject: Suggestion for Old-town green street

I'd like to make proposal to look at making 7th Ave a more community friendly street.  It wouldn't take much, and I see that there is good potential to make it a nice community orienteed street that will help connect up our neighborhood.  It's about priortizing the street for pedestrians and bicycles - making it more comfortable for families and bikes to connect the neighbood, but cars are still allowed, it just makes sure the traffic is low speed (which it is already with all those yield signs!)  These are sometimes called "neighborhood greenways" - you can see a nice overview of how well these work from Portland at: http://www.portlandonline.com/transportation/index.cfm?c=50518&a=348902  - we used these a lot when down there, and they were great.  And, seeing how 7th is used by us in the winter, I think it would work great year round.

Anyway, I just wondered if there is an opportunity to pitch my idea to the DRA?
