I would like to welcome Michael Welch as our new Bar guy for the Trail
Mix. Michael will be needing to correspond with those of us who have
solicited beer for the event. He is now on our TTHB group.

Michael suggest 250 lbs. of ice. Is this a possible donation? Where do
we get ice?

Hello folks. Yes, I volunteer to run the bar.

Apologies, gang. I asked for five 50# bags, but what we really need is five 20# bags. Last Feb., the Bayside Grange had a whole bunch of ice in a freezer they were interested in emptying. Someone could check with them to see if that is still available.

I will show up at 4:00 - 4:30 and set everything up, so all drinks stuff needs to arrive by then.

I will need two bartenders on duty all night. This person, an experienced bartender, probably would love to do it and may have friends she usually works with.
Tisha Sloan <tisha...@suddenlink.net>

For the beer-getters, I understand that donations will be coming from Mad River and Lost Coast. Here is what I recommend:

Mad River IPA, 2 half-barrels (those are the large kegs)
Lost Coast Great White, 2 half-barrels (the beer defies categorization and I hate it, but it is VERY popular)

Redwood Alliance will donate beer cups, 16 oz. compostable. Please be sure to add Redwood Alliance to whatever "Thanks" lists there might be.

I understand that the NEC is supplying wine glasses. True? No plastic disposable, please.

How much and what types of wine are coming? The price will be dependent upon label, but $4 for a regular pour should be good.

I suggest $4 per beer.

Who is doing non-alcoholic beverages? Please, no plastic. Glass and cans only. I recommend contacting Wildberries, they donated $100 worth to the Humboldt for Haiti benefit this winter. That was a large event, and we went through most of it.

I suggest $1 for soda and fizzie waters.

Nice to have you, Michael! You are hitting the deck running.

I will see exactly what wine I'm getting later tonight, from Old Growth and Dogwood. It'll be about a case. Moonstone also is donating, but not sure what yet.

I have 2 bottles of wine from Lisa Drinkward via my friend Charlotte, but its for the auction.
We definitely need more wine. It ran out early at the Haiti benefit and there were a lot of thirsty wine drinkers and lost money for awhile. But this crowd will drink a lot of beer.

I left Phil at Wildberries a request lettter and stopped by a couple times to talk to him, but supposedly he's out of town until the end of the month. He usually gives me at least $100, but I don't know if he will be able to do it this time.

We should ask Murphy's and also Delreka for non-alcoholic drinks too?

Your pricing suggestions are fine.

Will you be doing all the signage and pricing lists, Mike? If not, I can do it. Either way, I have lots of handy plexi-stands and other presentation frames and materials.

Tisha is the bomb, if she's not working!

Michael, are you contacting Tom Tellez about how the bar is set up or shall I?

Hey Michael,

Thanks for all your doing!  It sounds like you have far more experience with bar set ups than me.  My limited experience comes from putting on regular barn dances in Arcata and other non-prof benefits I've helped with.  The MRB pale ale always goes as the IPA as a bit intense.  Isn't the IPA also far more strong- something like 8%?  The party's I've been at with MRB's IPA beer tend be populated by some very drunk people.

Would you consider having 1 IPA and 1 EPA?

thanks!

I am not good at signage, so won't be doing that. The Haiti benefit folks had a good concept in finding volunteers specifically for decoration.

When whomever contacts Tisha, you might ask her about donations of RG wines as well.

I will contact Tom Tellez about the bar setup.

Hi Tara. I think you must be thinking about MRBC's Double IPA, that is about 8.0%. That is one of my favorite beers, but you are correct that it is too hefty for our purposes.

My suggestion as to beer types was to accommodate 2 different levels of pallets. To serve two light beers does not do that job.

If you want to serve MRBC's XP instead, I suggest we get an IPA from Lost Coast.

Make sense?

Sorry, I just realized there are 2 Mikes. I meant Mike B about signs,
but he and I can work that out. To be clear, we'll call you Michael.

We have plans for decoration.

RB is already donating a case of wine.
Thanks for calling Tom. -N

Mad River's donation is 2 kegs of pale ale and cups too, I 've asked
Kevin to pick it up with a jockey box.
