I have a problem with my email. I am totally at a loss as to what to
do or where to go, or whether in fact anything can be done.

Problem:

I deleted an email earlier this week because I wrongfully assumed that
it was junk and did not open it first. I realize now that it may have
been important. Is there anyway to recover the message?

I have a basic Hotmail account. The message deleted also came from a
Hotmail account. My computer is an old Dell with a Pent III running
Windows XP. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Please contact me

Polly,

Thanks for the information. I will give it a try. So far, the other members of the List have stated that my problem is fatal for three reasons:

1) Because I never opened the email, but deleted it while in my "Inbox", it was never in my computer and cannot be recovered.

2) If I had been using Outlook Express I would have been ok (?).

3) Microsoft/Hotmail checked at their end and stated that I had waited too long.

Anyway, should I have any success I will let you know.

Again, many thanks.

Reg Curtis

hi,
i believe the data recovery tool recovers deleted material.
as though deleted, everything leaves behind a ghost impression that
can be recovered.
re deleted mail, you can recover from deleted file.
depends on how long you leave the deleted file uncleared.either manual
clearance or automatic clearance.
somewhere on computer there is a setting that records all incoming and
outgoing email.
another avenue is to ask your email provider or internet service
provider to track the item for you.as all email in and out is recorded
for security reasons.
