Phase XIV- for Aalambana and Divya Disha:
As always, thank you for the continued support. This time TrueIndia is aiming to empower the kids of "Aalambana Foundation and Divya Disha" as a part of Phase XIV.
Aalambana foundation:
Aalambana is a non-profit organization with a mission to impact the lives of less privileged children, enabling them to maximise their potential and change their lives. It's situated in Kukatpally,Hyderabad, India.It's relentlessly working to provide basic care and education to the deprived children in the slums and ghettos of this huge urban colony. Over the past 7 years, the organization has expanded from 5 children in one centre to over 65 children.A commitment is made to support each child by giving him or her a strong educational foundation, a good time, self esteem, basic health and nutrition and values, and to help them integrate with the mainstream education system.The children come from neighbouring slums, with parents (sometimes single parent's who are most times construction, domestic labourers) Aalambana also lends support to the Kids' families in areas of healthcare, counseling, support by taking care of their kids' afternoon meal, evening snacks apart from providing them education, clothing and books to read.

Yamini Foundation established as a Grass-root non-profit organization in the year 2006 is committed to make a difference in the lives of the persons with disability and other disadvantaged groups by protecting the rights and empowering them in an inclusive society. Yamini (name of baby girl ; now 13 years of age), daughter of Kuna Srinivasa Rao, had been diagnosed as having intellectual disability due to brain fever, when she was four months’ old. Srinivasa Rao had a mixed experience in providing the educational services including therapeutic services to Yamini and therefore armed with the formidable experience as parent started special education center for the children with mental retardation and other disabilities in the year 2005. Yamini, is his vision and mission to organize sustainable grass root rehabilitation services in the community.

Our Team reached around 10:30 AM on Sunday- Sept 25th 2011.Conducted a fun filled communication game to improve the team coordination,communication and motor skills - "Just a minute" and instructed children to talk about a topic for a minute. Great to see the kids response

Make A Wish August:
Our Team reached around 10:30 AM on Sunday- Aug 21st 2011
Despite of the rain, the event started on time. Our team educated the kids about Anna Hazare and his importance.
This was followed with Cake Cutting and dance activity. Finally one of the kid gave 'Vote of Thanks':Thanked True India for organizing these events and promised that all the kids would cooperate in all the activities taken by True India."
