“Make A Wish”- monthly birthday Celebrations at Divya Disha for the month of July 25, 2010 completed first anniversary and we want to take this opportunity to "Thank you" all the donors, volunteers for their support, generosity and compassion who have joined in this project journey.

"July Celebrations" at DD has been simply overwhelming with the Team TI and volunteers.

 

It was a great exciting day filled with fun and frolic at Divya Disha. As it was raining all day, we changed the venue to indoors and the events went on smooth as planned. As said earlier, we have conducted activities –drawing, quiz for the kids.

 

Drawing competition:

 

40 primary and 17 secondary kids participated in drawing competition. For Primary (upto 7th standard) "My School" or "My Favourite Festival" and for secondary (8th and above) "Vision 2020" or "Tree Plantation" or "Save the Earth". The kids did an extraordinary work by putting in all their ideas in their drawings. They were all so engrossed in their imagination, it was so cute to see their tiny brains work so vigorously in that 1 hour and the art they came up was amazing. After the competition we distributed cakes and lunch followed.

Quiz competition:

Segregated kids from 6th and above classes, such that there was one kid from each class and 6 teams were made. Each team had a team leader (senior most in the team) and a mentor (our volunteer to control the team). Team names were given as Gandhi, Nehru, Mother Teresa, Vivekananda, Netaji and Aryabhatta.

We became kids all over again just being with them. Having spent hours with them, we finally called it a day. In a nutshell, it was indeed a lovely experience for our volunteers.
