Dear CRCs and Chairs,

 

It was so nice to see many of you at the TRB Annual Meeting! I have a number of updates for you. Please feel free to distribute to your committee members and friends, who are free to participate in the below mentioned webinar.

 

1. Funding Program Deadlines
1. NCHRP Projects: The problem statements you submitted by 11/1/19 are now in the hands of the people who will have a large impact in determining if your problem statement is funded or not; these people are state DOT staff. If your committee submitted a problem statement, I suggest you get with your state DOT committee members and friends and ask them to get with their state DOT Research Manager to rate your problem statement(s) high. State DOT Research Managers (all) and CEOs (8) must submit their ratings for each problem statement by 3/16/20.
2. NCHRP Synthesis Projects (FFY 2020): Problem Statements are due 2/17/20 (see attached).
3. BTSCRP Projects (FFY 2021): Problem statements are due 2/21/20 (see attached).
4. TCRP Synthesis Projects (FFY 2020): Problem statements are due 3/18/20 (see attached).
5. TCRP Projects (FFY 2021): Problem statements are due 6/19/20 (see attached).
2. 2020 TRB Annual Meeting: The meeting notes, presentations, and links from Bill McLeod’s presentation on TRB databases are posted on the CRC website at https://sites.google.com/view/trbcrc/home/workshops-and-meetings.
3. Funding Program Webinars: A webinar on the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) will be held on 3/12/20 @ 2 pm EST. A registration link will be sent soon. Other USDOT webinars will be held throughout the year.
4. TRB Committee, Section, and Group Changes: As these changes are occurring, please try to assign any new CRCs early in the process so that your committee doesn’t skip a beat when in comes to research activities.
5. CRC Council: The Next CRC Council meeting is 3/13/20. If you have any issues you’d like to raise, please contact your Group Council representative (https://sites.google.com/view/trbcrc/home/council) or let me know if your Group doesn’t have a Council representative.
