Dear ITS committee members,

I would like to share my perspective on how ITS can transform driver
safety, and I welcome your comments for discussion.
A brief explanation is that driving evaluation takes place today with
pen and paper documentation and a checklist format for scoring.
ITS in the categories of collision avoidance and driver assistance
could possibly do the same automatically to better inform driver
licensing decisions.
Better yet, the criteria for licensing could then be linked to actual
measures of crash involvement risk, because ITS development was based
on surrogate measures for crash safety.

Please share your thoughts and questions, but do me ONE favor!
I have created a 2 minute audio recording that presents the case for
intelligent vehicles in driving assessment for an amazing contest.
I need your help to win this competition before Monday, Aug. 20th!
You can help bring my doctoral dissertation to life in full animated
glory.
No, I’m not negotiating a deal with Disney or Pixar…..but just as
good!...a contest by PhD comics!!

Take a moment to be inspired and entertained. I think you’ll like it!
