Hi Trailers,

This week we start from Constantia Nek, doing a loop past Cecilia waterfall, Rooikatkloof, Skeleton Gorge, Kirstenbosch Dam and back to Constantia Nek Parking. A nice runnable route of ±12km with 740m ascent.

Route details

Starting from the Constantia Nek parking we take the first left up the single track which brings us up to the jeep track, keeping right on the jeep track we head up the concrete road for a bit before turning right again taking us to the single track which leads us past Cecilia Waterfall, up Rooikat and down to the contour path. Turning left we follow the contour path past Skeleton Gorge to the Y junction which leads up the stairs, here we will head down into Kirstenbosch making our way back past the Kirstenbosch Dam through Cecilia Forest and back to Constantia Nek parking.

All in all, it should be around 12km and about 2 to 2.5 hours for the relaxed group as we stop to admire the views and waterfalls. There are many options for a shorter or longer run.

The walking group will be confirmed on Friday.

Rendezvous and Start Time

Constantia Nek Parking (opposite La Parada Restaurant) at 7:20 am ready to start running at 7:30 am

The parking can fill up quickly, so I recommend arriving a bit earlier.

Terrain and distance

Mostly single-track and not very technical. ±12km, with 740m ascent.

Groups
This is a pack run with regular regroups, we will split into speed groups with leaders and sweeps in the morning.

Dogs

What to bring
Water, whistle, warm/windproof top depending on weather, space blanket, ICE ID - either on your phone, bracelet/tag, or card in your backpack.

Important
