It’s Puffer time again on Saturday and some of us will be assisting at the refreshment table just outside the gates of Cape Point Reserve. After we have packed up we’ll be going into the park for a run from Buffelsbaai. For those not working in the cold and dark, you can meet us at Buffelsbaai ready to start at 7:30
We start from Buffelsbaai and head south along the coast towards Cape Point, overlooking False Bay. After stopping at the Whale watching point we continue south for a short way before turning West and running north along the Atlantic Ocean to Platboom. A true 2 Oceans trail!
In order to get back to Buffelsbaai, we do need to run along tarred roads.
For those who want to avoid the tar and are happy to do car admin, the trail route continues along the coast to Gifkommetjie.
Rendezvous and start time
Meet at 7.20am at Buffelsbaai (NOT Buffelsfontein information Centre) ready to run at 7.30am.
After paying at the main gate, head south along the road for approximately 8kms before turning left to Buffelsbaai. Meet in the parking lot to the right.
NB: Little to no mobile reception so messages won’t be received
Terrain and distance
Single track with tar roads at the end. Around 12km
This is a pack run with regular regroups, we will split into speed groups with leaders and sweeps on the morning.
