What would you do if you had back pain tomorrow?

I have asked this question to thousands of people who have
participated in our Freedom From Stress and Back Pain training
program. I can remember only one who came up with the right answer,
and he had attended the course several years prior. He said, "I would
lie down in the "Position of Comfort", do "Soft Stomach Breathing" and
"Relaxation Therapy". My response: "Not bad Tom after all these
years:

So, I will now "integrate" information presented in previous Posts as
I address this important question. Hopefully, this will help you
reverse back pain and generate an even greater inclination to self-
manage much of your own good health. Here is how it goes:

When you experience back pain of the most sudden and painful sort,
"immediately lie down" on your back - with your knees bent - and do
Soft Stomach Breathing. This will slow down the flow of adrenaline
that goes with fear and pain AND take physical pressure off the pained
area. Remember, we are trying to "reverse" the painful process.

What's the alternative?

People, especially at work, try to "tough it out" and this only adds
to the strain and pain you are experiencing, as it also leads to
increased injury and muscle contraction.

Again, Soft Stomach Breathing in the Position of Comfort facilitates
reduced injury and a more rapid recovery.

Now, how about the person with an "sore back" after a day at work?

Same answer. Just lie down as instructed above and you will
experience gradual relief from pain - all of this without prescription
drugs, pain killers, muscle relaxants, etc. (Aspirin and ibuprofen
are also helpful as anti-inflammatory agents)

If you need to review Soft Stomach Breathing, all the information you
need exists on a previous Post. Check it out. If you want the
complete agenda, carefully laid out, check out the First Aid For Back
Pain Online Course presented in another previous post.

A PRECAUTION: The above is not intended as a "cure" for back pain,
because most back pain is best prevented by a variety of things you
can do to facilitate good health (i.e., use the Position of Strength
at all times, stretch correctly and frequently, move correctly)

Recall the fundamental, "All correct movement is exercise, whereas all
incorrect movement is injury".
