How do highly competitive PGA Tour golfers feel about each other?
"It's very simple," Woods said. "You always help your friends. Sean
(O'Hair) is a friend of mine, and like all my friends, you always try
to make their life better somehow. Sean has been struggling a bit on
the greens this year, and I thought I could offer a little bit of help
and insight to how he could change that." (Sept. 24, 2009 FedX
competition)
What is the relationship of golfer to golfer?
I think Jack Nicklaus said it well and I quote: “Anyone who truly
loves golf always empathizes with and respects and is eager to help
and encourage another addict.”
Jack also said, “It has always been his impression that, the greater
the accomplishments and stature of the Tour pro, the more receptive
and encouraging he is to pro-am partners, and vice versa.”
I mention this to the Group because I believe it is useful to remember
golf is mostly a game and an opportunity to share skills, advice and
friendship.
