My response to the You Tube Video Sophie investigates the Good News Club

Please pray for their souls...

Pray  what they mean for evil, God will use for good...

This is Mr. Bob from the video setting a few things straight. 

Sophie said I had no idea why she was doing the video. She is partly right; I only knew what she told me, and asked my permission for, that she was a high school student doing a video for her class at school. When I asked more questions and found out it was a public high school, I let her know this was a Christian event and all were welcome. She told me she knew she picked our event to do her project on, that she went to church, and said God bless you. She told me she needed help with the video part and would have a helper come with camera equipment. The camera people told me when they arrived, they were friends of Sophie's mom and were there to help her with her project. We were kind to her group and allowed them freedom in the event. Later that morning protestors were outside each of our doors giving out the yellow flyers against CEF and Good News Clubs. They did not have permission, had not paid for their spot or building as we had and did not have the right to block our doors and were stopped by security. Sophie's group trying to video me talking to the protestors  were asked if they were a part of this group. They said no, and they didn't even know them. Sophie's group asked me who were they and what was their complaint on video. Later, we find out the inside group and the outside group are the same group.

To get their  interviews they told many of my volunteers they were doing this video for me, Mr. Bob, and that they would be sent a copy, sign here.

In the video where I am signing, I was told it was to get a copy of the video.

I was also told I would get a copy of all raw video and a copy of the finished product.

Lies you are told in this video: You are told we tell young children they deserve to die and go to hell. ( Not true, I was on camera for a full presentation as well as our teens. This was not done nor has it been done by me or my staff)

You are told we can have a club in schools where no parent or teacher wants us. ( Not possible, we must have and we require parental permission for any child to attend) You are told we use tax payers money. ( not true, we must rent the location of club like anyone else and we do it with donations to our organization) You are told we keep our message secret. (Not true, she is holding and reading our text book which according to her we don't change from. I am on camera giving our message, the whole point of our group is to get the message out to as many as we can) You are told we want to do away with public schools. (Not true, we want to make them better by being a part of them and the children's lives like any good parent should)

The  lack of truth, morals, and ethic's is seen loud and clear through this charade.

Their idea of free thought for this group is in their eyes only, as long as you think like them you are ok, if not you must be bad and ignorant.

We love them and pray for them, we do not like the misinformation they are giving out.

The pictures in the video of hell, sculls, burning, are not ours, they were added to go along with the lie.

It's funny you think the Wordless Book is wordless for children who can't read. We use it with readers and in different countries because its easy to understand and remember. The colors on stop lights are not for preschoolers also.

The Jerry Falwell quote at beginning of video has nothing to do with us or our teachings. All our people at the event not CEF said is that creation should be included. We have a right to our opinion also...

Its your lie not us that say Catholics and other Christian groups are going hell unless they change to GNC views. You miss the point, we are not against, we are for... God, Jesus, the Bible. You are the one against Catholics and other Christian groups by being against our God and His one way to heaven through Jesus Christ...

I started as a volunteer with CEF in 1984, full time in 1987, local director 1992. Yes we teach about sin, people teach us to do right,  no one had to teach us to do wrong, we do that fine by ourselves, we are born with a want to, to sin a sin nature. Never have I or my staff told a child - you deserve hell, you are going to hell, tortured for eternity in hell, we don't even use the word hell. We teach Sin can not be in heaven, it separates us from God.

From 911 would you teach children all the gory details or say bad men did bad things to our country. You might even say a lot of people died lets pray for there families. You would not give children the gory flames burning details. If there dog was run over, do you tell how mangled it was? No, you let them know it got out,was hit by a car and it died, I am so sorry, I love you, are you ok.

Our events are Good News events because we share the good news of Jesus. The good news of forgiveness of sin and a home in heaven through Jesus. And yes we need forgiveness and Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Yes I even gave my address and phone number because the form I signed was to get a copy of the finished and unedited video I was promised. For there other interviews they told many of my volunteers they were doing this video for me, Mr. Bob, and that they would be sent a copy, sign here.

Sophie lied about what it was for, and about who she was. She lied about what she would send me and what I was signing for. Our underage interviews where told that it was for me and they were signing to get a copy also there parents did not sign a releases for them. The whole filming was based on lies.

Even at the event I went outside and personally talked to those handing out flyers. I could have just called security and kept on going. I did not have to agree with them to talk with them and to try to clear up any misunderstanding which is what I told them. We may not agree on religion, Bible, God, or Jesus. I have been truthful with you and tried to clear up misunderstandings. I have not seen any owning up to on your part how this was done or what I was told.

Note:

This group already has a permit to protest the upcoming Triad Spectacular in Winston-Salem March 9th. The parents and children will have to walk right by the protesters to get in the door. 

This atheist Triangle Free Thought group backed by a national Freedom From Religion group do not believe children should be taught we are born with a sin nature, that there is a punishment for sin, that sin can not be in heaven, and that we all need Jesus as lord and savior to get to heaven. They do not believe in allowing any one, including their parents to teach children these things. They would go as far as calling it abuse and making it a crime. This will be something that could be used against any church, Christian individual, or organization that gives an evangelistic Gospel message.
