Hi all!

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

On December 8th, I hope you can join ferry advocates and North Shore leaders to celebrate the long sought expansion of Staten Island's fast ferry service on December 8. The expansion of fast ferry service is an enormous win for all of Staten Island. It offers direct, car-free travel between Staten Island and Brooklyn for the first time in more than 50 years, cuts travel time by up to an hour for thousands of commuters and enables more residents to ditch their car during their daily commutes.

After more than three years of advocacy, it's finally time to celebrate!

Details are below! Please note that the ribbon cutting will take place at 9:30 am exactly, and the event will take no longer than 15 minutes before ending in a celebratory ride to Brooklyn.

Best,

Rose Uscianowski (she/her/they/theirs)

Questions:

1. Do people need to RSVP for this?

2. Will there be a ferry back to Staten Island?

3. May I share this?

No, yes, and yes!
  • No need to RSVP. I'll be sending a mobilize link soon, but RSVP'ing is mostly for record-keeping.
  • The new route will be fully operational as of Monday, so boats will be running in both directions. I don't know when the next West Midtown-bound boat to Staten Island will depart once we arrive in Bay Ridge, but I imagine that the wait will be no more than 15-20 minutes.
  • Share away!
