We have two goals in mind through our planning work. Meeting Details are below:During this first planning meeting, we will not be jumping straight into brainstorming, goal setting, and other discussions. Instead, most of the meeting will be led by our Advocacy Director, Shawn, who will take you through what the strategy process will look like.
- Given this year's important mayoral election, we want to enter 2026 with clear goals and a blueprint ready, no matter who is elected as our next mayor. Likewise, the boroughwide planning processes will end with a citywide event planned for January, where we share both our major citywide and major boroughwide campaigns for 2026 with citywide elected leaders
- We have also been speaking internally about how we can support and categorize different types of campaigns through our internal research, communication, and design capabilities. Likewise, we'd like to be able to share information with our other departments in advance about the types of higher-level support various campaigns will need in 2026
While this kickoff meeting will bring together Staten Island and South Brooklyn activists, we can continue the process in separate groups depending on how the consensus feels.
