Happy Friday all,

I hope you’re getting ready for a restful (or an impactful) weekend!

Unfortunately, tomorrow’s press conference on putting People First on Richmond Terrace has been postponed until Saturday, June 1st, to allow more of our partner organizations to participate. In the meantime, there are many ways to support some of those same partners this weekend! Here are some ways:

Join Friends of the Forest Avenue Regional Residents Association for a litter cleanup, tree bed cleaning, and planting event

  • Meetup: Tomorrow (Saturday, May 18) at 9am at Forest & Hart Avenue

  • Cleanup Locations: Forest Avenue, Castleton Ave, between Hart Blvd and Bement Ave

Join the Port Richmond/ North Shore Alliance in their annual banner raising event in honor of veterans from Staten Island’s North Shore:

  • When: Tomorrow (Saturday, May 18), 11 AM - 12:30 PM

  • Where: Veterans Park (Park Avenue and Bement St)

Support local artists at Cottage Row Curiosities at Snug Harbor

Where: Cottage Row in Snug Harbor (1000 Richmond Terrace)

When: Tomorrow (Saturday, May 18), 12-5 PM

Head to a free "Poetry In the Park" Night at Ferry Hawks Stadium

  • Where: SIUH Community Park (aka Ferry Hawks Stadium), 75 Richmond Terrace

  • When: Tomorrow (Saturday, May 18), 6-8 PM

Join the St George Civic Association for litter clean up and weeding along the Bay Street Median

  • When: Sunday, May 19, 9 AM

  • Where: Meet up at Slosson Terrace and Bay Street

How can you support the future of Richmond Terrace before June 1?
Email the Department of City Planning at RichmondT...@planning.nyc.gov and remind them that the crucial Richmond Terrace Corridor rezoning will only be successful if they can work with partners at the DOT and Parks to bring Richmond Terrace the safe, clean, lit, and walkable sidewalks that current and future residents and business owners need!

Best,
Rose
