Hey all!

I just wanted to keep you in the loop about some upcoming events next month. There's a ton going on!

1- Silver Lake Park!
I'm sure you've heard by now, but in case you haven't, vehicle traffic was reintroduced to Silver Lake Park Road on April 25 without any community dialogue or meaningful notification. In response, TA is ramping up the pressure! On May 10th at noon, we're marching from the intersection of Silver Lake Park Road and Forest Avenue to the offices of Councilwoman Hanks and DA McMahon at 130 Stuyvesant Place. We are looking to get a massive turnout!

2- Jane's Walk!
This Saturday, I'm hosting a Jane's Walk in New Brighton, focused on how changing land use and racist zoning laws have impacted health, quality of life, chances for upward mobility, waterfront access, and more.
The walk is a little less than a mile long, starting at Jersey St and Crescent Ave, near Mahoney Playground, before going west to Richmond Terrace, and continuing along North Shore Esplanade Park. It ends at Richmond Terrace and Nicholas Street

3- Community Classes at North Shore Esplanade Park!
I'm hosting a series of classes at North Shore Esplanade Park through early Fall. All classes are free and open to the public! They are one hour long from 11 AM to noon and take place at the end of the park closest to Richmond Terrace and Westervelt Avenue.
The first class on May 11th at 11 AM is a beginner class on the basics of crochet. The class is with Margaret Rucci, who has led an entire series of crochet classes at Casa Belvedere. Materials are provided, and people of all skill levels are welcome! Even if you know how to crochet, feel free to come by! Watching you will help the lesser skilled among us (points to self) pick things up a  little quicker!

Best,
--
