Hi all,
Tom Cocola retired at some point last month from what it seems. I found out during that same meeting yesterday that our new Commissioner is Roseanne Caruana.
I heard from Victoria Giordano that Commissioner Caruana does plan to hold meet and greets with the community but dates and times have not been announced yet and neither Cocola's retirement or Caruana's new role have been publicly announced by the DOT or any news outlet. I tried reaching out to Gersh from Streetsblog for more information about Caruana but got nothing and nobody from TA has even heard of her before now although she does have a long history of work in the DOT with customer outreach which doesn't seem at all sufficient for a role as borough commissioner.
It's my guess that Caruana will likely just be stepping in for the remainder of de Blasio's Administration though. In the meantime I've been hounding Victoria for more information about when Caruana will be introduced to the community
