Hi all,

I hope you've been enjoying the gorgeous weather this week!

It's been a while since the TA Staten Island Island Activist Committee has met. I was hoping to reconnect and get back in the habit of regular monthly meetings.

During this meeting we'll share updates, reestablish a regular meeting schedule and discuss the establishment of subcommittees and campaign priorities.

Next Thursday (3/21) at 7PM would align with our regular time. Let me know if that still works. Otherwise, please let me know what time works for you on the following doodle poll- https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/e5AYnYve

Location is TBD based on consensus.

I'll probably be traveling to Albany that day for state budget advocacy, but please keep me in the loop for future meetings!

Hi again all and thanks to those who responded or filled out the survey. The consensus was for March 26 at 6:30, which sounds great to me!

For those available, please let me know if you're interested in meeting in person or over zoom. In the meantime, I'll send over the calendar hold and agenda soon!

I would like to meet in person, at least for this "reunion."

Perhaps going forward we could alternate (or go hybrid).

On that day, I would only be able to make it on Zoom . I'll see you then!

Hi all,

I look forward to seeing many of you on Tuesday night! Please consider filling out this short survey if you will be joining, or can't make it but would still like your opinions counted. It is meant to re-establish people's areas of interest, preferred modes of communication, availability, etc

All the best,

Sorry, all! I forgot how annoying Google's share settings can be. Now you should all be able to access the form!

Hi Rose and all,
My schedule is so jammed up that I can't promise to dedicate the time to attend. Would probably more likely tune in if it was happening on Zoom.
I also think there is a lot we could do via social media (such as this google group). I clicked a preference for Slack on the survey even though I'm not familiar with it, just to indicate that I think there are other platforms that are set up better than Google Groups. We use Discord for Swimmers of Anarchy and I find that it works well. It's set up with different channels within a given server (ie, group site). The channel set-up is nice because it allows the user to zero in on a given interest; eg, advocacy, social rides, etc.
In terms of safety issues, I would put a high priority on advocating that the DOT remove those horrible steep smaller speed bumps that they've taken to installing next to speed humps. They add a huge element of danger to the dangers we already face as cyclists.
Best,
Ted

I can't wait to speak with many of you tomorrow!

Thank you for those who have filled out this short survey. Your responses have been helpful. If you haven't but would like your opinion on things like the focus of our advocacy, our communication styles, and so forth counted, please fill this out. Even if you cannot make it tomorrow, I encourage you to fill it out if you plan to be active with us.

As a side note- everybody should have access to it.

Since some of you are interested in meeting in person, I can set up a hybrid meeting model. The in-person location would be at TA's office in Lower Manhattan (near the ferry.) The address is 111 John Street, Suite 260. I can set us up in our main conference room, where we have a great hybrid set up. Please let me know if this works for you.

Otherwise, the virtual link is in the calendar invite. I'll be adding the agenda to the calendar invite later today.

Is Google Meet different than Zoom?  I have never tried that, just used Zoom.
