This joint ain't exactly jumpin' so far. Feel free to post on any topic you wish. It doesn't even have to involve the paranormal. Seen any good movies? Read any good books? Eaten any good Easter eggs?

Starting a new thread is easy. Just click New Topic while on the group's homepage.

Speaking of movies, I've become sort of obsessed with Frank Capra's Lost Horizon. I saw it for the first time a couple of years ago, and while I liked it, it didn't make a big impression at me at the time. Or so I thought. But somehow I couldn't get the damn thing out of my head. Recently I had a strong desire to see it again, and ended up buying the DVD (the restored version). I found it really fascinating, to the point where I'm now reading James Hilton's novel.

I don't know, maybe I'm just looking for Shangri-La…

I got sucked into it a few months ago and put the novel on my to read list.  It was odd.

Michael, I thought I saw that, but I can't find it in my database. (I write a short entry for every movie I see, so I'll know whether it's worth seeing again. Started it in 2001 and now have 888 movies and TV series on it.)

I definitely saw either Lost Horizon or a remake of some sort--but definitely not the 1973 musical.

I'd put it on my Netflix queue, but I'm not currently signed up for DVDs, just streaming, and it's not available to stream.

But yeah--who can resist a story about a brief excursion to a heavenly realm? Especially if you're an NDE freak. :o)

Reminds me of H G Wells' haunting short story The Door in the Wall. Anyone here know it?

As to movies I've enjoyed recently, I just saw the TIme Traveler's Wife for the second time. I love that movie! I'm a sucker for any film that's got time traveling or Rachel MacAdams. And this movie has both. She brings such feeling to everything she does.

A really haunting film. It opens with a scene where she meets the time traveler in a library, and he's never seen her before, but she says to him, "I've known you all my life. You're my best friend." And in the context of the story, it makes perfect sense.
