SIRCA is the Securities Industry Research Centre Asia-Pacific. We're a
team of nice bright folks working in 18 terabytes of Reuters
historical data. This is unique data. Sirca supplies it for academic
research at peak tertiary institutions worldwide - the Australian unis
plus Stanford, Oxford, etc. See http://www.sirca.org.au for details.

SIRCA is also a key ASP to Reuters itself. I'm looking specifically
for a senior (or really, really good) developer to help implement a
new service for Reuters to offer their clients to meet new European
laws called MiFID that go live this year.

Development is Ruby/Rails wrapped around numerics in C++ all over RHEL
4. High discipline test-driven agile process - refrigerator code.
We're just around the corner from Martin Place in the CBD. 6 month
contract at an agreeable daily rate, excellent chance of extension
after that.

You have bullet-proof C/C++ - prefer modern standard library skills.
Commercial dynamic language experience - ruby preferred. Superb
written and spoken English and preferably strong math too. Exposure to
financial trading instruments, networks and protocols advantageous but
not essential.

Developers only (no agencies, no spam, no cold calls, don't waste your
time) please drop a CV to pete at sirca dot org dot au.
