The Back Room THIS SATURDAY... and beyond.

Hi Kids!

Yeah, I know it's really short notice, but I am having a Back Room
dance for the month of April... and it's coming up on Saturday, April
19th at Austin Uptown Dance (8868 Research Blvd.).

As always, the dance starts at 10pm and admission is just $5. If you
plan on attending the Austin Ballroom Dancers shindig earlier that
night, you can attend both dances for just $9.

A few other things of note...

- Don't forget the one and only Bill Borgida will be holding a one-day
Blues workshop at the Khabele Studio. Here are the particulars as I
know them...

Part One: 10am-noon
Part Two: 1:30-4pm
$45 for full day of classes

If you plan to head to Bill's workshop, come on out to the Back Room
later that night to practice your new blues skills. :)

- The Back Room will have a special guest this month. My good friend
Stryder Crown will be in Austin to spin some tunes with me and house
DJ Keith shapiro and to dance the night away. Stryder has been
teaching Blues dance all over the country (recently at Steel City
Blues and Reno Dance Sensation) and has been DJing at several events
including Montreal's blues event From Montreal With Love. So come on
out and welcome Stryder to Austin.

- Finally, you'll notice that there are no Back Room dances scheduled
for May and June. My DJ/teaching calendar is pretty full the next 2
months, which unfortunately makes it harder for me to schedule and run
my monthly dances. Luckily, for you Austinites, there are a lot of new
Blues events going on in town (check out www.KickButtBlues.com for one
such event), but that also unfortunately means for me that I may have
to shut down my event. I've made no concrete plans as of yet, but
you'll be the first to know. In the meantime, know that this April
dance will be my last for a while, and so I hope you can make it out
for the festivities.
