First of all, MANY, MANY thanks to those of you who attended the
Austin Blues Party earlier this month. The event was a huge success,
which could not have happened without your support. Believe it or not,
the same folks who hosted ABP - we are officially called the Blues
Association of Austin - are already making plans for ABP 2. We hope it
will be bigger and better.
Back Room - July 21st
My next Back Room dance is coming up THIS WEEKEND on Saturday, July
21st at Footworks Dance Center in Downtown Austin. I'm happy to
announce that the tunes will be brought to you by yours truly and
Colin Wise, fresh off glowing reviews from ABP. Doors open at 8pm and
admission is just $5 for a rockin' evening of blues music and dancing.
I hope to see you there.
The Future...
For those who don't know, Footworks Dance Center will be leaving it's
current location at the end of the month and actually expanding to TWO
locations to better serve their clients. Stacey - the owner - is close
to finalizing a north Austin location that will probably be the new
home for the Back Room come August. As soon as she finalizes that
location, I'll let you know so we can celebrate the move in style. :)
And finally, many of you have asked me in the past few months about
offering weekly Blues dance classes, now that you're as hooked on the
Blues as I am. :) Now that ABP is over, I've got time to pursue that
option and hope to make an announcement about more classes.
