Community Rights Lane County, Freedom from Aerial Herbicides Alliance, and Our Community, Our Rights are collecting signatures during the upcoming Country Fair weekend. We're working hard to qualify our ban on the aerial spraying of herbicides in Lane County, as well as our new initiative to protect our right to local community self-government. This new initiative says that the state shouldn't preempt our right to draft and pass local laws that protect our health, safety, and welfare, as the state has done by preventing local laws on GMO agriculture and harmful forestry practices like aerial spraying.
We’re hoping to have volunteers at the following three locations, including two places in Eugene where people going to the Country Fair will queue up for buses. So you don’t need to be going to the actual Fair or have tickets or anything. All you need is to be willing to give up a couple of hours to make a difference on our signature collection.
We need volunteers willing to work in any of three locations:
* Volunteers to work the Eugene Bus Stop
* Volunteers to work the bus stop at Valley River Center
* We might also be able to use people collecting signatures at the Fair when people arrive or in some other way.
We are looking for people for the following shifts:
