I may be responsible, at least in part, for this feature. I requested
a version of a feature I use a lot in the somewhat hoary program Power
Structure, a "tension indicator." It's a graphical way for the author
to indicate how close a particular scene is to the climax of a given
story. By periodically reviewing your scenes (or chapters or
whatever) and assigning each a numerical value, you can make sure that
each scene contributes to the build of tension as you approach the
climax, then doesn't try to upstage the climax afterward (but instead
serves as an anticlimax). It's arbitrary, but I've found it's helped
me find scenes that weren't pulling their weight in this sense,
allowing me to ask myself, "What's wrong with this scene in that it
isn't building the tension appropriately?"
