The Sudbury Savoyards seeking MUSIC AND STAGE Directors for Princess Ida 2024

The Sudbury Savoyards are actively recruiting a MUSIC DIRECTOR for our upcoming production of Princess Ida.
Princess Ida is a comic opera by Gilbert & Sullivan. It was their eighth operatic collaboration and this piece highlights a princess who founds a women's university and teaches that women are superior to men and should rule in their stead.
The Sudbury Savoyards have presented a Gilbert and Sullivan show on a Grand Scale every year since 1961 and are excited to be continuing this rich tradition in 2024. This is where we need YOU. Do you want to work with a wide range of fabulous singers and a full orchestra? Are you excited to work on a Grand Scale production? Each year the Savoyards attract wonderful voices to audition for our lead roles. We also are unique in the area in that we do not require auditions for our chorus. We are open to all who want to join in!
The Sudbury Savoyards are a community theater group based in Sudbury, MA. Our mainstage productions field a full cast of leads (auditioned) and chorus (unauditioned). We are a very welcoming group and love meeting newcomers and bringing them into our community. Each year we recruit a full 25+ person orchestra, creating an amazing experience for our audiences.
We expect this production will go up mid-late February 2024 with auditions and rehearsals starting around November.

In appreciation of your time and talent The Sudbury Savoyards are offering a $1000 stipend to our Music Director.

The Sudbury Savoyards are actively recruiting a STAGE DIRECTOR for our upcoming production of Princess Ida.

With this theme in mind we are seeking diverse candidates with unique visions for a possible reimagining of a classic like Princess Ida.
