Dear Savoyard Members and Friends,
You are invited to attend a Memorial Celebration for one of our original
members, Lawrence (Laurie) Haworth, on Saturday, February 1 at 11:00 am
at the Sudbury United Methodist Church, 251 Old Sudbury Road, in Sudbury.
Laurie began his savoyard career in 1961 when he appeared in the first
ever production, as a Juryman in "Trial by Jury", then went on to appear
in the roles of KoKo, a Pirate, Marco Palmieri, and Leonard Meryll. He
stepped off the stage to take on the role of Stage Director beginning
with "Iolanthe" in 1967 through "The Pirates of Penzance" in 1981.
Members of the Savoyards will be participating in the celebration and
could use some ensemble support for "Hail, Poetry" as well as the
Madrigal in the Act I finale of "Ruddigore".
After the service members of the Haworth family will be hosting a
luncheon reception at their residence in Hudson. Donations can be sent to
"For the Love of Dog" P.O. Box 107, Hillsboro, NH 03244.
