This post is from starship, November 14 in response to study questions
for Chapter 28 of Acts
#1
On Malta Paul again gives us a good example of how we should proclaim
the whole gospel in word, deeds and signs. Although I wouldn’t
recommend the sign of being bitten by a poisonous snake. And we
probable cannot do the deed of healing the sick. We can proclaim the
gospel, pray for the sick and, like Paul, live the example of a
Christian life.

#2
Paul’s welcome at Puteoli shows us, even at that time in history, the
beginning of a worldwide network of Christian fellowship,
encouragement and support. His arrival at Rome looks back as the
fulfillment of God’s promise that Paul would proclaim the gospel in
Rome. It also looks forward showing Paul’s arrival to Rome in the
company of Roman Christians in the kind of welcome that was reserved
for dignitaries.

#3
Paul’s freedom of movement shows the Roman government did not view
Christianity as a threat to the civil order or Roman way of life. It
also shows God’s plan that the preaching of the gospel in Jesus name
will not be hindered even though the witness is imprisoned. It also
should encourage us to proclaim the gospel to all nations with
boldness and unhindered.

#4
In Act’s we saw how a small group of missionaries could spread the
good new of Jesus through the Roman Empire. We see Paul living his
faith with an unshakable believe that God will lead him in this work
even in hardship. It should encourage us to continue Paul’s work by
living a Christian life and evangelizing to unbelievers.
