VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED
Youth initiative is a youth run youth led organization established by and for young people to develop to their fullest potential and bring about positive change in the societies they live.
As per its mission to involve youths in its programs, youth initiative is seeking volunteers for its ongoing five non funded programs, via: Between US, Civic Concern, Smart Club, National Youth Service and Youth Discussion Series. The volunteers will work as a focal person for each of the program. The roles and responsibilities along with the minimum qualifications needed are listed below. Any interested youth between the age group of 16 to 29 are encouraged to apply.
The number of volunteers required: 5 (one for each program)
Serving tenure: at least three months
Deadline for application: July 20, 2009

Minimum Qualifications:
¨ Currently enrolled in any +2 level or equivalent.
¨ Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Nepali.
¨ Excellent Communication and inter-personal skills with a youth-friendly attitude.
¨ Basic computer skills (Windows, MS Office and Email, English and Nepali Typing).
¨ Able to work independently or in group settings.
¨ Good understanding on contemporary youth issues and civic dealings.
Above all, the youth with learning attitude and internal motivation to work in youth issues will be preferred.
Youth Discussion Series
Roles and Responsibilities:
¨ Confirm venue for YDS and manage and co-ordinate all the necessary logistic arrangements associated with it.
¨ Carry out weekly Youth Discussion Series on social, economic, political, cultural and youth related issues.
¨ Coordinate and confirm appropriate resource persons as per the topic.
¨ Disseminate information through Email, website, flyer, Social Networks (Face book, Twitter, etc.)
¨ Ensure at least 20 participants in each discussion.
¨ Submit weekly and quarterly reports of discussion.
¨ Prepare brief news of each discussion for the publication in the web-site.
Between Us
Roles and Responsibilities:
¨ Confirm Venue and manage and co-ordinate the necessary logistic arrangements associated with it.
¨ Coordinate and confirm Resource Persons.
¨ Information Dissemination through Email, Website, Flyer, Social Networks (Facebook, Twitter, etc).
¨ Ensure at least 24 participants in each program.
¨ Submit quick and final reports of the workshop.
¨ Prepare brief news of each workshop for the publication in the website.
¨ Update to and co-ordinate with mentor.
¨ Finance settlement with the finance manager.
Civic Concerns Workshop
Roles and Responsibilities:
¨ Confirm Venue and manage and co-ordinate the logistic requirements associated with it.
¨ Coordinate and confirm Resource Persons.
¨ Information Dissemination through Email, Website, Flyer, Social Networks (Facebook, Twitter, etc)
¨ Ensure at least 24 participants in each program
¨ Submit quick and final Reports of the workshop.
¨ Prepare brief news of each workshop for the publication in the website.
¨ Finance settlement with Finance Manager
Smart Club Focal Person:
Roles and Responsibilities:
¨ Keep in regular touch with Youth Initiative.
¨ Assist Smart Club with the logistics and to reach out the guest speakers.
¨ Together with Smart Club, Develop a work plan and adhere to it.
¨ Reach out to other possibilities to organize events, trainings, and campaigns in co-ordination with the Smart Club Executives and members.
¨ Assist Youth Initiative's ongoing programs.
¨ Contribute national/International youth-related news and relevant resources for the Smart club and Youth Initiative website.
¨ Submit brief weekly report along with participant contact list to Youth Initiative
¨ Submit a brief report and pictures of conferences/important meetings attended;
¨ Inform your Mentor of future travel plans or absence in advance.
National Youth Service Focal Person:
Roles and Responsibilities:
¨ Keep in regular touch with Youth Initiative.
¨ Together with National Youth Service, Develop a work plan and adhere to it.
¨ Reach out to other NYS members to organize events, trainings, and campaigns.
¨ Organize gatherings and interactions with volunteers working in different organizations in order to inform youths about opportunities, events and resources.
¨ Represent NYS-YI relevant national conferences and events;
¨ Assist Youth Initiative's ongoing programs.
¨ Contribute national/International Volunteerism-related news and relevant resources for the NYS or Youth Initiative website.
¨ Submit a brief report and pictures of conferences/important meetings attended;
¨ Inform your Mentor of future travel plans or absence in advance.
